What I wore - summer style

The summer style challenge officially started Monday and some amazing blogging friends are all linking up to show you what we've worn. Also - we're doing a give-a-way! (see below) so make sure to enter!

As a Canadian doing the challenge it can be sometimes frustrating to see how great the deals are for the American ladies. And the variety of their stores (especially for us plus size ladies) so thankfully I was in the states this weekend with my sister who is also participating. We were very efficient in our shopping let me tell you, we knew exactly what pieces we still needed and didn't really buy anything not on the list (well kinda, a floral dress was not on the list but shhh). I also may or may not have over done it with the long beaded necklaces. Just don't tell Nick.

When I got home from shopping I laid out everything on my bed (excuse the terrible photo quality). 90 percent of this is new - eek!



Here's what I've worn so far:

Day One:

Jean Jacket: Old Navy
Flowy Tank: Old Navy
Printed Shorts: Target
Earings: Just Fab
Wedges: Payless
 
Yes, I realize it's a creepy photo of my eye. I was trying to get my earing. I really need a full length mirror at work to take photos.

Day Two:


Blazer: Penningtons (old)
Graphic Tank: Maurices
Coloured Denim: Old
Kate Spade knock off earings: Walmart
Tote: Target
Metallic Sandals: Payless
 
I received a lot of compliments on this one. I was surprised. I felt a bit weird wearing the graphic tee to work, so I added the blazer on my own. The yellow tote is amazeballs, but HUGE!
 
Day Three:



Denim Vest: Torrid
Hair Wrap: Forever 21
Maxi Dress: Old Navy
Shoes: Payless
 
Wow, only took me 3 days to go off script. White dress will never happen for me. Too many children, and just not practical for my jobs or lifestyle. I would never be able to shoot a wedding in a white dress! Could you imagine? Black is my friend, and hides all the things I hate, and black maxi's in my opinion are classics. So here we are.

    I laughed at your eye picture - whenever I try to get jewelry pics, that's how they always turn out :)! Deena has mentioned the difficulties of Canadian shopping before. You got some great new things and you look lovely!
