Hello! Welcome to week 7 ( I think wow, 7 weeks already) of our style perspectives. Hopefully you've already checked out The Blended Blog and saw how Christy styled her prompt this week ! If not click here.

First of all look how awesome the ladies did last week ( I say ladies and not we because I failed)

Moving onto this week. Cardi, tee, jeans and statement necklace. This is my life staple. I wear this formula often, but I was rushed when I remembered I couldn't do my normal photo shoot with my daughter Tuesday evening. So I threw this combo together quickly and had her photograph me at oh 6:45am .My hair is a disaster so forgive me. Otherwise I love this combo! I went with grey denim because I can get away with it at work during the week:)

Everything is shopped from my closet and at least two years old. My statement necklace is from JCrew, and purchased in NY. I have a thing about buying a necklace where ever I travel. I have 2 from Dominican, 2 from Mexico, a Vegas (topshop!!) one, NYC, and Boston. I love love when someone comments me on it and I can say 'oh I got it in Vegas'. I feel fancy.

Not gonna lie. I failed my part of this one. Today's post is brought to you by Advil cold meds and fishermans friends. My children graciously got me sick. I currently have one with strep and one with mono. #joysofmotherhood.

But I'm a team player and had to go to the doctors so I dressed myself with this weeks prompt and took two terrible selfies. (I'm sorry Lisa - this will totally ruin your collage for next week)

Told you I failed. I tried to find old pics of me wearing spring type sweaters and only found these.

Not overly large photos. At the time I was focusing on my statement necklace addictions. Oh well you get the drift.

Hopefully you've already been over to The Blended Blog and seen Shaunacey’s Bright pants look already! I can’t believe we’re on week 5 of our style challenge already. These posts are my favourite and I look forward to them all week. The only part I hate is narrowing down my choices in my closet.

I own a 4 pairs of bright pants, who knew? But for this week I went with red, because I knew which blouse I wanted to pair with it. This Is my wear to work version, and after a few weeks of the challenge now, I realize I wear a lot of blazers, or cardigans. I also wear a lot of colour, and I never really thought about it. For years my uniform was black pants, and black shirts. I forced myself out of it, but didn't really pay attention. Now I rarely wear all black. Wow, the things I never really paid attention too.

I'm sorry, I'm rambling, back to the bright pants.

Here’s my fat a$$ wearing Red Pants. And you know what? I LOVE THEM. Also, I'm wearing black pumps. Yup, I'm 5’7 and wish I was 5’4, but whatever. They match my blazer. And make me look a bit thinner. So I'm wearing them. Also they hurt my feet but pain is beauty.

My shirt is from Marshalls, pants are from Old Navy, Shoes from Payless, Blazer from Penningtons. Necklace – DSW. Clutch – Indigo. Lipstick – MAC. Everything dug out of my closet and older pieces. Well, the clutch is newish from Valentines day from Nick.

There you have it. I still don't have this photo taking thing down yet. My arms look all funny, but my teenage photographer gets annoyed with all of my posing.

Oh my gosh, I can't even tell you how much stress this week's prompt has given me! (In case you're new around here - The Blended Blog is hosting a Style Challenge, with Weekly prompts, more info below).

I kept interpreting the prompt "Patterned shirt with neutrals" differently. My first thought was any patterned shirt with neutral pants. So all week I've been stressing about neutral pants.What colour should I wear? Are jeans a neutral? And then today when I finally put my look together, I had a panic attack - what if it meant the SHIRT should be neutral, if that's the case I've failed miserably. If not then I think I did okay.

Here's what I ended up with:

Boyfriend Cardy - Old navy

Booties - Payless

Amazing necklace - Gift

Bright coral lipstick - Stila Stay all day liquid (run dont walk to sephora to get this) in Carina

A few notes about this photo:

Yes, it's snowing. After being spring like weather for the last two weeks, we're back to snow.
I'm a photographer and I forgot my famous line of "Chin out and down" so I have 17 chins
I didn't Photoshop them out for the sake of being 'truthful'. Though in the spirit of being honest I did try for 30 full minutes.
I'm not sure why I'm standing like that. I didn't have to pee honestly. I think maybe I figured it would make me skinnier in the photo.
