Canada Day - Part 1

Friday, July 02, 2010

Yesterday morning, we packed up 4 very excited kids (and two very tired adults) and got ready to spend the day in Collingwood. All dressed in our Canada gear (though the children looked more like americans.....damn old navy) we did a quick stop for coffee first. Then I cursed to myself when we stopped for gas. 102? what the heck? HST how I hate thee. But that's another topic for another time.

So, we're not even out of Barrie yet, and the fighting starts. We have a DVD player to occupy them, and still the fighting. Drives me mental.

Needless to say by the time we get to Blue Mountain I need a drink. But instead we walked around...

(Half of these are taken with a point n shoot. We tried to have fun without mommy constantly saying 'wait I want a picture').....Tried is the key word there.

....after we had lunch, we decided to celebrate the rest of Canada Day in Barrie. We took some group shots, spent a few hours downtown, did the facepainting, eat the cotton candy thing, and then Nick got the BRILLIANT idea to host our own firework display (so we didn't have to drag 4 very tired kids downtown).......I'll post all of those pictures tomorrow though. Today, we're off to Nana's to swim.

Peace out.
