I feel like.....

My blog has been mainly me linking up with others lately. Zero original content. Not that my blog has to be anything in particular. It’s my Effing blog, but for some reason I feel pressure that my little corner of the internet be something fabulous. Excellent stories of my kids, perfectly taken photos with my real camera, not my iPhone – and something witty, funny, thought provoking and educating.

Ugh.

It 2009 when I first started blogging I did so to tell funny stories of my kids and post a ton of photos while I was just starting out in my photography venture. I didn’t want to oversaturate my photography blog with photos of my children, so I did so here.  Once life got busy, I stopped blogging completely. In come me joining the Style Challenges last year and I started again. Less family anecdotes and more lame photos of what I was wearing. But I LOVED IT. I’ve posted some personal stuff along the way as well.

A few weeks ago I decided I needed to better organize my life. I went to chapters to purchase a day planner. A physical one. Not a Google calendar or my phone, but an actual planner. I found one in blue stripes that I love (which is part of my Nick+Nik re-brand colour scheme) and hugged it all the way home.

And then I realized it started in April. *Hangs head in shame*. Seriously – who the heck starts a calendar in April!?!?!

I took this as a sign that I had a bit more time to organize my ideas. I still wanted to link up a bunch with the amazing ladies I’ve found in blogland, but I really wanted my own ideas to come out.

Turns out I’m starting a weight loss program, supervised by a medical team at a Hospital in Toronto. Tomorrow is one of my first appointments (I’ve been on wait lists, and info sessions like you wouldn’t believe). So one of my goals is to document this process, and use my blog as my journal. I’m not gonna lie, I may not be a happy camper for the first 13 weeks of this program. But I’ll be honest, so It should be interesting to say the least.

For now I’ll run updates on Thursdays – Starting this Thursday after my first appointment so I can explain a little more about what I’ll be doing.

Thanks for reading my first Journal entry. Xo

ps. my hashtag for this journey will be #26weeksofhangry

  1. I hear you on the whole original content thing..it so hard not to get caught up in the what everyone else is doing. I struggle with this too.

  2. I am struggling with this too. I try to do my own thing, but find myself wishing I was doing something else or being better or trying to keep up. Good luck with your weight loss and I'll be here cheering you on every step of the way!
